Entrances to Sanctuaries

View looking north at the entrances to the sanctuaries “A” and “B” of the Hittite shrine of Yazilikaya in Turkey.

On the right (east) side of the image is a stone staircase that ascends to a narrow cleft in the rock face that leads to sanctuary “B.”  On the left (west) side of the image, sanctuary “A” is partially visible under the bows of the pine tree..
