Approaching Lower Palace

 A view looking east toward one of the major excavated areas of Carchemish.  This area is called the "Lower Palace" in contrast to the structures that are located on the citadel of Carchemish.  A Turkish Jandarma Post covers the citadel, and it was not possible to visit or photograph the area.
