Exiting the Mountains (1)

View, looking north, of the Euphrates at a spot about 60 mi. [95 km.] north - as the "crow flies" - of Sanliurfa where it exits the mountains. This spot is about 15 mi. [24 km.] east of Nemrut Dagi. The area south of here is a lake that has formed behind a recently built dam.

The spot where this photo was taken is about 375 mi. [600 km.] downstream from the source of the Euphrates!
