View looking northwest at this well–preserved entrance and western wall of the temple that was dedicated to the Roman Emperors. It was probably built around AD 200 during the reign of Septimius Severus.
The stones of this western wall have been smoothed off. Compare the stones of the eastern wall that were not completed. Note also the beautiful foundation stones of this temple (lower left portion of the image).
