Temple of Trajan Detail 2

View looking west at east entrance to the Temple of Trajan.  A portion of the west wall is standing up to the cornice (left side of image)!

Trajan ruled from AD 98 to 117 and visited this area in AD 114.  The temple was probably built in preparation for his visit.
