View looking west at the excavations (October 2023) near the "Golden Mile" in the area of the Hagia Sophia and Hippodrome in the area of Sultanahmet in Istanbul.
On the right (north) side of the image, the "Golden Mile" is visible.
According to the archaeologist, these structures—including buildings and waterworks—date to the Late Roman/Early Byzantine Periods.
