A view of the partially, not so well–done, reconstructed Memmius Monument that was located in the Upper Square of the Middle City of Ephesus.
The Memmius Monument was built between 50 and 30 B.C. to honor Gaius Memmius, a grandson of the Roman dictator Sulla. It was thus about 80 years old by the time that the Apostle Paul arrived in Ephesus.
It may have been three–storeys high. The reconstruction is not too understandable!
