View looking north toward a Double Temple. A variety of columns have been re-erected in the back of this structure.
The Double Temple was actually in the foreground, but the outline of the structures is very difficult to discern, even from above! The temples were dedicated to the deified Caesar and the Goddess Roma, or Artemis and Emperor Augustus.
Thus, the Imperial Cult occupied a rather small, but strategically placed structure—between the Odeum and the Prytaneum, and just north of the large Upper (Political) Agora.
