Northwest Platform (Crepidoma)

Eph. 2:20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

This platform is about 11 ft. [3.5 m.] high, and in this area is marked by seven large steps. The fourteen step approach on the front of the Temple made entrance there much easier. This portion of base (stylobate) is 359 ft. [109 m.] long! The Temple of Apollo was the third largest temple in the Greek world.
