Ephesus Arcadia Street

Ephesus Arcadia Street

View looking west from the Theater toward the harbor. The street on the right, with some columns, leads from the theater, past the baths, to the harbor. Although originally built by Lysimachus (third century B.C.), it is currently named after Emperor Arcadius (A.D. 395-408) who rebuilt it and equipped it with lights!

The harbor, now silted up, was located this side of the peak that is visible on the left side of the image.
