View of the arches upon which the stage of the theater at Hierapolis rested. In the upper right portion of the image a portion of the cavea seating is visible. On the far side of the image a side stage doorway is visible.
Note on the extreme left of the image the chain link barrier that protects—but inhibits viewing of—the marble panels that depict events from the “life” of Dionysus.
