Stage

View looking down on to the stage (left) and orchestra area of the theater at Hierapolis.  From left to right the well–preserved stage wall is visible as are remnants of the carved marble facing.  The visible arches supported the stage itself—a modern wooden platform covers part of it.  The people on the lower right side of the image are standing in the orchestra area.
