The relief on this front panel depicts military paraphernalia such as helmets, shields, armor, swords and sheaths. Note the kneeling captive in the Parthian Hat just to the left of center.
The temple, built during the reign of Domitian, was dedicated to Vespasian (his father), Titus (his brother), and himself—and thus, the temple is more properly called the "Temple of the Flavian Sebastoi." "Flavian" is their family name while "sebastoi" means the "revered ones.
