View looking south at the "house of Alexander the Great" that is located in a residential area of Priene—near the western gate. The courtyard is in the foreground of the image.
It is believed that Alexander resided here in 334 B.C. during his siege of Miletus. After his departure it was turned into a place to honor/worship him. The "finds" include sacrifical table stands, statuettes, terra cotta figurines and the upper part of a statue of Alexander (marble; in the Berlin Museum).
