View of the upper portion of one of the four massive columns that support the dome of the Blue Mosque. Because of their size they are called "elephant paws!" They are 15 ft. (5 m.) in diameter.
Note the band of Arabic writing that separates the lower portion (convex flutes) from the upper portion of convex fluting that is painted.
