View looking southwest at the Ciragan Palace located on the European shore of the Bosphorus. It is to the east northeast of the Dolmabahce Palace .
This palace was built in 1874 by Sultan Abdul Aziz and here he was murdered or committed suicide. For a brief period of time the Turkish parliament met here—in 1908. In 1910 it was destroyed by fire, but its refurbishing was completed in 1991 and it now serves as a luxury hotel.
