View looking southwest at the Suleymaniye Mosque. This magnificent mosque has four minarets on its western side. It was built between 1550 and 1557. Suleiman the Magnificent is buried here. He was one of the most powerful Ottoman rulers and was the builder of many of the walls and gates of Jerusalem.
