View looking south at the length of the outer narthex (“exonarthex”) of the Hagia Sophia. The three doors on the left side of the image lead into the narthex of the church. Note the hooks on the lintel. Curtains were hung from these to keep out the dust and the cold. In the left foreground note the basin.
