Theater Interior 1

View looking north at the interior of the theater at Patara.  The cavea (seating area) is clearly visible as is the semi-circular orchestra area.  Just above the center of the image the well preserved backdrop wall (skene) is clearly visible.  Note the niches in the skene that originally contained statuary.  In between the skene and the orchestra area are the meager remnants of the stage.

Beyond (north of ) the theater the southern wall of the bouleuterion is visible (just to the left of the yellow construction equipment.
