View of the upper portion of one of the three doors that lead through the scaene frons to the stage.
From top to bottom, note the intricately carved gable and below the horizontal lintel the “egg” design over the metopes. On the two square lower capitals note the acanthus leaves decoration. On top of these note the upright tongue–like decorative elements—these are similar to those found on capitals from Smyrna and Pergamum and may indicate Egyptian influence (lotus plant).
