Magdala Boat

Mosaic View of a portion of a mosaic floor that depicts a boat on the Sea of Galilee. This fragment is kept on the grounds of the Franciscan compound at Capernaum.

The boat is in the center of the image. Note the two masts and the steering rudder on the right (stern) side of the boat. Date: Roman Period — possibly first century A.D.
