Capitals

View of two capitals found in/near the synagogue at Gamala.  The one in the lower right may be upside down.  If so, it would have been placed on the top of one of the columns in the synagogue.

The one behind it (upper left) would have also been placed on the top of a column.  It is of the Ionic style and has three “eggs” (echinus) between the scrolls/spirals (volutes).  Compare the similar, but chronologically later, capital from Katzrin (also on the Golan Heights).
