Western Tower

Western Tower

View looking northwest at the westernmost tower, of two Towers that guarded the western entrance to the Palace of Agrippa II.  The structure also served as a "basilica."

On the lower left, note the two rows of  "header" stones that form the outer layers of the tower.

Between the two towers, there was an underground passageway that led into the palace complex (on the right, the arrow points to it).
