View looking north at the Crusader/Arab building on the top of Sepphoris.

It was first constructed by the Crusaders (twelfth century) using older, Roman, materials and it has been refurbished at various times—during the eighteenth century by the bedouin sheikh Dahar al-Omar, and in the nineteenth century, a second floor was added as it served as a school for the nearby Arab village of Saffuriya.
