Manger Square Late 1970's

View looking west, from the plaza of the Church of the Nativity, at Manger Square. This area has been renovated several times in recent years. The old police building on the right (north) side of the image (Israeli flag flying) has been replaced by a cultural center. Note the minaret just left of center that dominates the square.

Traditionally Christmas celebrations have been held in this square although in recent years these "celebrations" certainly have been muted.
