Ashlars in Wall

Ashlars in Wall

View of one of the well–preserved walls of the Judean palace found at Ramat Rachel.  Note the well-carved stones (ashlars) that compose this wall.  They are so well–cut that they fit snugly together.

Similar types of ashlar stones have been found at Samaria and at Dan.  Portions of this wall seem to be of a “header stretcher” type of construction.
