Theater Diagram

View of an on–site diagram of the theater at Scythopolis.  Note the thee–storied scane frons beyond the orchestra and especially the three seating tiers in the cavea.  In reality, the upper tier is totally missing, the stone seats of the middle tier have been robbed out, and the lower tier is fairly well–preserved.

The theater was built in the second century A.D. upon an earlier first century theater.  It seated 7,000 persons.
