Cotton Merchants' Gate

View looking west at the Cotton Merchants' Gate ( Bab al–Qattanin)—one of the six gates on the western side of the Haram esh–Sharif (Temple Mount).

It was constructed in 1336 and leads into and out of the Suq al–Qatinnin (Cotton Merchant's Street).  Not the intricated stalactite corbeling and the interlocking white and red stones and black and white stones.

On this east side of the gate, Leen Ritmeyer has identified a portion of the current pavement as Herodian.  Click Here to view the pavement.
