Crusader Remains

View looking down on the area north of the Mosque at Nebi Samwil.

According to the excavator: the large carved out open area was used as a "campground" for pilgrims.  In the center of the image is a square platform that formed the base for a tower.  Behind it to the left are feeding/watering troughs for animals.  In the lower left of the image the three standing blocks were evidently left in place as quarrying was taking place.  In the upper right portion of the image was a "Pilgrims' hostel."

In the upper left portion of the image the outline of Gibeon can be seen.
