View looking east at the chancel and apse of the Baptismal Chapel of the North Church in Shivta.  In the raised chancel area is a cruciform baptismal fount carved out of a single block of limestone.

The church was constructed in the fourth century AD and, following an earthquake, it was reconstructed at the beginning of the sixth century AD.
