Xanthos River

View looking south from the acropolis of Xanthos River.  This river flows away from the viewed and eventually enters the Mediterranean Sea near/at Patara.

All of the white in the image, which may look like snow or frost, is actually the plastic coverings on greenhouses in the Xanthos Valley.  Vegetable crops can grow here during the winter months and be used in other parts of Turkey and/or be exported to Europe.
