Tunnel Entrance

Tunnel Entrance

View looking south at the entrance to the 260 ft. [80 m.] long tunnel that runs from the center of the courtyard of the Asclepion to the circular building located at the southeast corner.

In the upper center of the image note the three openings (covered by grating) into the roof of the tunnel. Some suggest that while patients were processing through the tunnel, positive words of encouragement were pronounced through these openings!
