Tunnel Interior

View looking south inside the 260 ft. [80 m.] long tunnel that runs from the center of the courtyard of the Asclepion to the circular building located at the southeast corner. The walls were originally covered with marble facing.

Note the openings in the ceiling. Some suggest that while patients were processing through the tunnel, positive words of encouragement were pronounced through these openings!
