Quarry 1

Quarry 1

View looking down at about 12 huge, mainly completed, columns.  I estimate that some of the columns were 30–40 ft. [9–12 m.] in length and about 4–5 feet thick [1.2–1.5 m.] — note the two students in the upper left portion of the photo.

Most of the columns have been rounded and some have definite bases.  This ancient quarry is located about 10 mi. [16 km.] east-southeast of Alexandria Troas.

If anyone has any additional information on this quarry I would appreciate your input.
