Bosphorus

Bosphorus

View looking north northeast from the Süleymaniya Complex over the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus.   The Bosphorus is the large body of water in the upper center/right of the image and the Golden Horn, a river/bay, that flows into the Bosphorus is to the left (west) of the center of the image.

In the distance is the Bosphorus Bridge that was opened in 1973.  It was the first structure ever to link Europe (landmass on the left of the image) and Asia (landmass on the right side of the image.  In the center of the image is the Galata Bridge that crosses the Golden Horn.

In the foreground the domes and the chimneys are from the small residential rooms of schools attached to the Süleymaniya Complex.
