Interior Temple Athena

View looking east at the remaining portions of the floor of the Temple of Athena.

The opening into the temple was from the far side — the entrance into the sacred chamber called the naos.  In the lower left portion of the image is the opisthodomus, the porch at the rear of the temple that was often was used to store valuables.

On the left (north) side of the image the lower portions of the Ionic columns are visible.
