St. Paul's Church Snow 1

St. Paul

View looking northwest at the eastern (apse) end of the Church. The church is basilica shaped with a nave and two side aisles. To the north (visible) are the remains of an adjacent structure.

Additional portions of the church have been excavated since this photo was taken. At the lower left portion of the church, some believe the remnants of an earlier synagogue have been found. One of Paul's six major speeches (sermons) was given on the Sabbath day in the synagogue of Pisidian Antioch (Acts 13:13–43). The church was built early in the fourth century A.D.
