View of the Delphinium that was situated just east of the Lions’ Harbor. The god Apollo was worshiped here. Apollo was associated with dolphins that helped protect the sailors of Miletus. Almost 200 inscriptions have been found in and near this sacred area.

From here a sacred processional way led to the temple of Apollo at Didyma, 11 mi. [18 km.] to the south.
