Interior of the fourth (some say fifth/sixth) century synagogue. Looking south through the central nave. A person is standing in the main/central entrance door. The synagogue was constructed out of white limestone as were its floors.
The Franciscan excavators believe that the black foundation walls that they found under this synagogue are those of the synagogue that Jesus preached in.
