An image of the exterior of the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery at Muhraqa.
Muhraqa, meaning "the sacrifice" or "it burns" in Arabic, is the site on Mount Carmel at 1,580 feet that commemorates the event described in 1 Kings 18:18–46 where Elijah "defeated" the prophets of Baal and Asherah.
