View looking south along the inside of the east rampart on top of which the wall of Ashqelon stood. The rampart is on the left (east) side of the image and the inside of the site is visible in the center and right side of the image— sandy and tree covered. In places the rampart is 130 ft. [40 m.] high! In the distance to the south two smoke stacks of a power plant are visible.
