View of some of the side pillars in Enclosure "C."   The one on the right is part of the earlier enclosure while the two in the foreground are on the more recent enclosure (but these date back to the 10th millennium B.C.!).

Note the carving of the animal, in bas-relief, on the column on the left.

The stones in the rings are connected by low stone walls and face towards the center of the circle.  The two central pillars are mounted in shallow grooves that were cut into the floor/base.

Prof. Schmidt believes that the T-shaped pillars are stylized human beings.
