View of a wall in the Ramasseum portraying Rameses (( in his chariot conquering his enemies.  Rameses II (ruled 1279-1213 B.C.) fought the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh and was one of the most powerful Egyptian Pharaohs.  He is considered by some to be the Pharaoh of the Exodus.
