View looking west toward the island city/port of Arvad. This island city/port is located 2.5 mi. [4 km.] off the Syrian coast. It was famous for its powerful fleets (Ezek 27:8, 11).
Tyre was also an island city like this until the days of Alexander the Great (ca. 332 B.C.) when he linked Tyre to the mainland.
