A detail of one of the "offspring" that was produced by Methusaleh and his "friends."  Methusaleh is a male tree, and they bred it with some females the offspring seem to be doing well on the grounds of Kibbutz Ketura in the southern Aravah of Israel—about 50 miles north of Eilat.

Some day we may be eating fruit produced from Methusaleh.

The picture was taken in April 2023.

Methuselah sprouted in 2005 from a 2,000 year old seed that was found in the excavations of Masada.  It was transplanted to the ground in 2008.
