View looking southeast from Delphi. On the upper left portion of the image the limestone Phaedriades Cliffs are visible. At the base of where a chasm divides them is the (sacred) Castalian Spring (not visible in this image).
In the center of the image a modern road runs off to the right side and just below it is where the Gymnasium and the Sacred Precinct of Athena was located.
In the lower right portion of the image the steep, olive tree covered, slope drops off into the Pleistos Valley.
