In the center of the image the orchestra area is clearly visible. It is paved with polygonal stone slabs and has a diameter of about 60 ft. [18 m.].
Beyond and below the orchestra are the foundations of the Temple of Apollo. The building beyond the temple, with the construction scaffolding, is the Treasury of Athens. Beyond that the slope drops precipitously into the Pleistos Valley.
