View looking down and north at the complete narrow inlet into the harbor (Skala) of the Island of Patmos.
Ships enter the harbor sailing from the Aegean Sea passing from right (east) to left—to where the port is located. Note how the harbor is well-protected from winds coming from the west (prevailing), north, and south.
In the left portion of the image note the narrow isthmus connecting the northern and southern portions of the island.
