View looking west along the southern portion of the Roman Stoa of the forum. This was a double stoa, the upper portion of which is not well preserved (some statues are in the Louvre), but this image reveals the upper portion of the lower (covered) portion of the stoa—the "cryptoporticus."
A similar style forum has been found at Smyrna.
