This statue was found on the "House of the Poseidoniastai of Berytoss (Beirut)" on the island of Delos. The nude goddess Aphrodite attempts to fend off the goat-footed god Pan who makes erotic advances on her. She holds her sandal threateningly in her right hand, while the winged god Eros comes to her aid. According to an inscription on the base, the group was dedicated by Dionysos of Beryttos to his ancestral gods.
It is made of Parian marble and dates to about 100 B.C. The group is about 2.5 or 3.0 feet high.
